An overflow cover came with my new Delta shower trim kit but I want to replace that rusted piece at the bottom of the overflow drain. It screws into the plastic part. Not sure what the name of the part is or if you can even buy just that one piece, Lowes doesn't carry it.

That is a retainer, and does not have much of a function once the drain is installed.

Once the drain has been completely installed, that plate is sometimes a nuisance and is discarded.
