 GOULDS JS PLUS noisy pump
Author: ronnyfrew222 (Non-US)

I have a GOULDS JS PLUS shallow well pump which is bolted to a concrete floor beside an 82 gallon steel tank. When the pressure in the tank drops below its operating pressure of 40 psi and the pump starts up it makes quite a racket for 5 minutes till the tank fills up. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the pump it is only three years old. The water running into the tank is also noisy. Being near to some bedroom windows this is causing a disturbance.

So hoping to find a solution or some suggestions on how to cut down the noise by soundproofing the pump and tank.

Regards
Ronny

When I bolt a pump to the floor, I use 1/2" thick rubber washers to help with the noise.

Hi thanks for reply. Checked out the pump and it does not have rubber washers fitted so I will fix that.

Ron
