Faucet Leaks and Diverter won't Divert
Author: taylor3 (MI)

Bathtub handles were leaking since we moved in. Bought house a year ago. Home was built in 1959. All parts look original.
I replaced the stem valves and stopped the leak.(Danco 11B-1H/C kit)

The next day, using the Danco 11B-1H/C kit I changed the seats for the handles then stem valve and seat for the diverter and now the faucet is dripping when handles are in the off position...and the diverter no longer diverts water to the shower.

What should I do?

Thanks

Danco, is a company that supplys parts made in a foreign country and are marketed as cheap. What brand of faucet do you actually have? If you don't know. can you provide a picture ?

Best Wishes

Thanks for your reply.

It's a Gerber. Today I went to a pipe company/warehouse and they were able to piece together a replica of my original parts. Water is now diverting the faucet leak has stopped but now there is water leaking inside the wall down to the floor through to the basement. The rep from the store suggested applying teflon tape to all of the seats. I did this and the issue is still present.
