How to get water out of a water storage tank
Author: Melia (WA)

I have a 305 gallon norwesco potable water tank. It has a 2" female threaded bulkhead outlet. I am trying to connect a water transfer pump to it. I figure you have to get a threaded reducer bushing, a nipple, a ball valve (to regulate water flow) to a hose. That is where I am stuck. I have a pump and food grade water hoses with regular faucet fittings for input and output from the pump. But how do I get the hose connected to the PVC?

Those who manufacture water storage tanks have the complete systems including accessories. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer or retailer regarding your issues?

I have contacted and spoken with several. They have bushings, etc, but none of them carry pumps. Thanks, though! If you know of a company that has a package, I'd love to know about them.

PVC x thread adaptor to thread x hose barb fitting and a hose clamp.

The threads on the tank may be straight, or MPS
