Broken check valve for sewage ejection pipe
Author: JRep (RI)

As u can read my check valve broke where the sewage is ejected. I have replaced the 2" check valve with a brand new one. Now it seems the pump won't eject the waste through the pipe. Could I have a clog? Could the broken valve somehow burned up the pump? The pump is only a couple years old. Please give me any advice to remedy the situation. Thanks

Did you install the check valve with the flapper in the right direction?

If everything is correct mechanically, the pump may be airlocked.

It is installed upside down, look for the arrow on the check valve and make sure it is pointing towards the entrance to the building drain OR to the outside of the house
