 Leaky washing machine supply valve
Author: krae (IN)

The cold water supply valve to my washing machine is leaking. It is not leaking at the stem or at the hose connection. It appears to be leaking at a connection that is below the hose connection. Any advice on how to fix it?

Here is a picture. It seems to be leaking near the area that you can see the bluish green corrosion.

if that is where it is leaking, it is an easy fix. remove the hose, shut off the water to that area if you don't have a seperate shutoff then shut the whole house. using 2 wrenches ( one as a holdback and one to unscrew the valve) turn the valve body CCW and remove it. replace with a good quality valve.
i would also change the hoses to stainless sheilded hoses with brass ends.
