I am building an outdoor kitchen and have run 3/4 copper line. My total BTU output for all appliances is 285,000 (round to 300,000). I will be using a 100lb tank to start off with and may need to daisy chain a second if I find I am running out too quickly.
My appliances all have what I believe to be second stage regulators so I just need a first stage at the tank, correct? Is there such a first stage regulator that takes the tank pressure down to 300,000 btus to support the total I need for all appliances. Then the second stage will take it down again to the required amount for each appliance.
When Researching I keep seeing first stage regulators take pressure down to 10 PSI. How does 10psi translate to the volume I need for all appliances, 300,000 btus.

Talk to your propane supplier, unless you plan on buying the tank.

your appliance regulators are "third stage". The second stage regulator, at your house will take the pressure from 10 psi down the about 14 inches of water column pressure, which is all the appliance regulators can handle without locking up.

A combination "twin" regulator will take the presure down to 12" and installs right at the tank. Talk to your supplier about its application.
