Venting for new horizontal section of waste pipe
Author: Lberg (MN)

I am adding a main floor bathroom and added a 6 foot length of 3" horizontal pipe to my existing 3" stack. (I used a wye and a 90 degree elbow.) There will be four branch lines coming off the new section (2 tubs, 1 sink and 1 toilet.) None of the new branches are longer than 5 feet. My question is can I use a 2" circuit vent at the end of the new main section (at the most upstream part) or do I need more vents?

Thanks for your advice.

hard to say without a picture. IF you were able to do this the vent would come between the last two fixtures and the sink would drain into it.
so, closest to the stack would be the toilet, then a tub then the vent (into which the sink would drain and finally a tub..
remember...IF is a little word with a big meaning..

Here is a very basic drawing. I don't think a picture will help. The space below the new work is very confined. Again, thanks for your help.

you want to give your inspector a heart attack? that is no where near code compliant.
starting at the stack...
toilet
tub
vent with sink draining into it,
tub....

Thanks for your help. I got it. In past projects I have vented each fixture independently, that's just not very feasible in this situation.
