After flushing toilet (flushometer) the water level in the bowl ends up a little bit too high. How do I correct this?

It does NOT, so there is nothing to "correct". The water level in the bowl is part of its design. THe water level can be too LOW if it is not working properly but NOTHING can make the water level too high, assuming you are referring to the water level AFTER the flush.

Water, should rise to the level of the internal trap. However, you might try a urinal relief valve and you won't get as much rinse water. But that could lead to other issues. Did you always have this issue or have you done some repairing lately?
