 Minor Surface Corrosion
Author: Snedmark (NY)

Hello,

Often I come across minor surface corrosion on copper pipes at connections and for example where electric panel ground clamps are located. Can I assume that until corrosion builds up, that any minor surface corrosion is often from flux or just early stages galvanic reaction and not an issue? At what point is corrosion considered a concern?

when the corrosion is wet it is a problem..
granted that some corrosion is from a pinhole leak in the original installation. those are usually white in color as opposed to the green color caused by flux. the white ones have corroded and sealed themselves shut but they would be of more concern then the green ones. as long as they are dry, i would not worry..
