Hi!
I am going to attempt replacing my tub spout with diverter. It is about 25+ years old. It is the slip on style, no screw. I am looking at one on HD which has a "Slip Fit" connection. Can I use this one for the type of tub spout that I have? The "Slip Fit" connection is throwing me off.
Thank you so much, I appreciate your help and expertise and time!

You'll need to remove the old spout and see what's there. If it's a galvanized nipple then a slip on spout will not work. If it's copper with a male adapter then you can cut the adapter off and use a slip fit.
Personally I really dislike the slip fit spouts and much prefer a threaded spout.

Slip fit spouts are fine by me as long as there is at least 3 ins of copper pipe stubout. A slip fit on a 1 1/2 in long stub out does not give you a solid stable mount.
