 drip noise in wall
Author: carmen (NY)

I have a brand new house and I hear a dripping noise in wall after showering. Can this noise be stopped? What causes this?

more than likely it is an expansion noise. as a pipe heats up from hot water running thru it, it will move (expand). as it rubs against wood it will make a noise.
yes it can be fixed. you will need to open the wall or ceiling, find the pipe and either scrape away some wood so it doesn't rub against it or wedge some rubber insulation in between.

It's usually where the pipe passes thru the bottom plate, if you have access underneath the shower you might be able to solve the problem without opening up the wall.
