Hi I am have a non class A room added off the wall that adjoins my kitchen and downstairs toilet. To do this the builder says that the overflow relief gullies ( one from kitchen sink and another from toilet and basin)should be cApped and slab laid over them . There are 2 other overflow relief gullys outside of where the slab will laid- off the laundry. But the plumber says I should dig Down to the sewer and dig another overflow relief gully at the lowest point in my garden. The house is built in the 70s and the pipes are clay. I am nervous about laying a slab over them and just so unsure as getting conflicting advice from plumber and builder/engineer. Is the plumber just being overally cautious?

WE do NOT have "overflow gullies" here so we have no idea what you are referring to, or how they are constructed.
