A plumber replaced a 10 year old hot water recirculating pump in Dec 2015, the new pump is a Lang Thermotech, it worked fine for 4 months then started making banging noises, which are intermittent.
The plumber has been back several times and states he is trying to get hold of the "rep",
he has never been when it is actually making the noises but I have held the phone up to the pump so he can hear them. To put a picture on my water situation: I am on a well.
In February I had public water installed to my property but am not yet using it as my well is presently producing fine. The water is pumped in to 2 storage tanks from the well which were cleaned out in March, also at that time I had a new pressure gauge installed on my pressure tank.
A valve was installed on the public water system so I can turn it on when needed. I also have a solar hot water tank.
The theories right now are that there is air in the system or that a piece of debris is circulating around.
Assuming either one of these theories is correct what would be the solution, as I am not getting answers from my present plumber, and do not want to keep shelling out $85/visit?
