Hi forum,
having some issues with our ground floor toilet.
The toilet was ok for some time however over the past year it has become almost unusable. So here are some key point to set the scenario:
Slow drain from flush , sometimes water level stays unusually high for hours after a flush , only slightly dropping. other times it drops to 'normal' levels but very very slow.
Bases on this i thought the waste was blocked- so we plunged the hell out of it - with some effect but if any not long lasting (but never ever 'normal' and still quite slow)
So I had the whole pipe rota rooted (mechanical de-blocking) this was completed and the guys reported there was no obvious block.
The problem persisted
I read a blog where the flush speed may cause and issue (it does seem to flush slower than other toilets in the house) and on dumping a large volume of water in the bowl from a bucket the drain seemed better but not considerably - note the bowl never over fills - just get high then before it gets too deep it does drain but stays high.
all the toilets and 1st floor work fine as doe the extra toilet on ground floor level at the back. so its only this one? (i think they use the same waste pipe)
one thing is a strange (does not happen with any other toilets n the ground or 1st floor) is when the bath or lots of water realise from upstairs - we get burping, bubbles pushing out of the bowl, sometimes the water completely disappears. (starting to think this is a vent issue )
lastly I live in Malaysia, so given my experience with the trade here do not assume the plumbing is installed to any standard, logic or with knowledge of DWV
looking for ideas now

I wrote a post on this recently. By the sound of it, might be your vent pipe. Did they auger/snake through the roof or just the toilet?
Many times vents can get plugged from various critters building nests in there and can cause issues over time. You've tried plunging and augering to no success, but I wonder about the vent pipes? At least I hope it's your problem, it's an easier fix than your waste lines further down.
Based on the other symptoms it doesn't sound like a toilet problem to me...

Burping and bubbling are signs of water backing up in the drainage piping, due to a restriction. Can you swap that toilet with a good flushing one and see if the problem follows the toilet or the location.

There are many POSSIBLE causes, but NONE of them are a "vent problem". The only way to diagnose the REAL cause is to have "good" plumber test it.

Also the first snake job may have punched through but not cleaned out the cause. After checking the vent, snake with the proper size head and cutter if you think it is roots. A Plumber that knows his _hit will use the proper head and get the job done. Since the water backs up after a while, I don't think it is in the toilet like was said before.
