I installed a PVC line in my house for an irrigation system that will be installed in the next week. I placed the line above the false ceiling in my basement and so the stub out from the house is about 5.5 feet above the ground. I'd like to use additional piping outside to lower the height of where the piping enters the pressure vacuum breaker; would that be acceptable as long as I keep the height of the PVB at least 12" above the highest sprinkler head in the yard? Having the PVB at 6.5 to 7 feet above the ground just seems like it would look odd. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is PVC supply piping allowed inside a house in your city/town? Yes, the vacuum breaker can 12" above the highest sprinkler head or whatever your local code requires.

Yes, if done correctly, but I would NOT have used PVC piping inside the house.
