 Sewage Ejection Pump

I rent a condo in an eight unit, four story building. The unit I rent is a garden unit. Over two months ago, there was a leak in a utility room, which is in the basement. An electrician and plumber both thought that the pumps motor blew due to something being flushed down that the pump couldn't handle.

Now, two months later, the condo owner from whom I rent the unit has received notification from the condo association that the plumber determined the problem stemmed from my unit. I am now being told that I need to bear the cost of this repair. Nothing besides typical waste water has been flushed down the toilets.

I have a few questions,

1. Is it even possible for a plumber to pinpoint from which unit a pump-clogging item came from when all waste water flows into the same reservoir/pipe? Note: A plumber never stepped foot into my unit and I have not received a copy of the bill/services performed yet.

2. If this is indeed just the condo association attempting to blame a renter so as to not bear the costs of this matter, what recourse from a plumbing standpoint do I have?

they THOUGHT.....
where is the object that blew the motor?
without it this is nothing but conjecture.

I would say that unless the item which caused the pump failure actually has your name on it, they are just taking a wild guess where it came from.
