Dear Madam or Sir:
Two weeks ago through a local plumbing supply house I bought a MiniRester size AA with a 3/8” x 3/8” connector. To stop a reverse water hammer that started a few weeks back on my 3 year old Samsung frig. It started about the time we changed water filters and is a bad vibration in the line when the water is on for the icemaker or when serving a glass of water at the frig door. First I reduced to fit the ¼” line and installed the minirester near the water source under my kitchen sink. It only worked for about 4 hours, then the vibration started back up and became worse, till I made another effort. I changed the ¼” copper line to a 3/8” Pex with the minirester next to the ¼” connection at the frig. It worked for about a day and a half with a lower than normal water flow, until the minirester stared to vibrate louder and louder for the last three days. My next step was to remove the minirester and the reverse water hammer is fully back in the Pex line. What do you recommend I do next? Is the minirester not working properly? I am stumped and worried the line will break sooner than later.

get to the solenoid valve behind the fridge and see if it has a filter screen that needs to be cleaned???
otherwise, leave the smaller arrestor behind the fridge and add a larger one under the sink.
