Well pump in basement...two pipe system to well.
Lately, the pump goes on every 20 minute or so, with no visible leaks at outlets. Although, I have a slow drip at a bathroom sink and my shower valve may need replacing. So, I thought that may be part of the problem.
Then tonight.
Pump will not shut off. It builds pressure to an optimal level (not 100% sure what the pressure is set at). The pump will not shut off and the pressure gauge will reach a plateau.
My circuit breaker is next to the pump. When I turn off (the power to) the pump, the pressure immediately goes down and eventually reaches zero.
When the pump is turned on, the gauge goes back up, but the pump never shuts off.
It's 2am so I'll leave it off for the night, but will turn the pump on when we need water.

There is probably a leak in your well pipe (possibly the return pipe) that went from bad to worse.
