Sink won't drain tried just about everything. Even outlet won't take bottled water.
Author: johnmoran (NY)

Defeated not for failure can't comprehend what's wrong. Did research, spoke with DIY people, used common sense growing up around family whom did not call people if unsuccessful by the end of this weekend will call plumber.

Mid 50's, ranch, 1 full bath, full basement, original plumbing, except fixtures.

Week ago bathroom sink stopped draining reaction clog took apart trap drained water piping from sink to wall like new inside no corrosion, no gunk, plus stopper in correct position.

Hooked up same problem.

Next day manual snake 7-8 + feet no junk, no obstacles, reinstall- same problem.

Following day manual snake 11-12 feet no issues. reinstall- same problem.

Vent line shares tub and toilet both drain excellent.

Hot water makes it to between P trap and wall itself.

Checked basement washer tub drained normal, checked sewer basin clear waste flowing normal to outside.

Checked sewer ground air vent in house foundation wall no blockage, no smell.

Never No noises, no gurgle, in other drains, in whole house, both on and off same vent line.

No basement backups.

Next Tried bladder with hose took some water some kicked back out drain.

Tried plunging, compressed air, no luck.

Hose down roof vent appears no blockage, no smells, no kickback of water in to house can not see any blockage.

DIY 50' electric snake did all lines in case I missed something after snaking tested same result.

Back where I started suggestions appreciated?

Thanks for you're suggestion no hairballs clean as a whistle. Even if I take a bottle of water and drain it into the drain line (from P trap to wall) it wont drain that little bit of water yet I ran a snake professional from hd without blockage and before the night it stopped working it drained perfect. I know the snake went downward not upward

There is a big difference between "having" a snake, and "using it properly". Empirically, one of the things you did SHOULD have unplugged it assuming the piping is installed properly.
