 Ice Maker - Frigidaire
Author: deb48deb (CO)

Ice maker was working fine - but water in door was just a trickle. I changed out the water filter and the water is working fantastic - but now the ice maker doesn't work. The temp is at 0 degrees. It seems like it should be an easy fix. I tried the manual start - where you hold the on button for 15 seconds - but days later - still no ice. The refrigerator is only one year old. Thank you for any help!

Ice, is 99.7% water plus minerals. You did not mention the source of your water. It sounds like a temperature issue and perhaps you should contact the manufacture of your freezing unit.

Best Wishes

Did you shut the water off to change the filter?

Ice maker repairs

1. Google the model number for info
2. Check youtube.
3. A actual service manual may be available for download via google or your Mfr.

"IF" Your model determines when to make / dump ice via light beam sensors in the door, ensure they are working and in alignment. Using the 15 second reset button was a start. Try tuning off ALL power to the RFR for several minutes. Afterwards -- It may take several hours for the unit to get back in sync.

Note
"IF" testing any light sensors (as may be indicated on google/youtube) and they don't function "normal" --- DON'T immediately replace --- Again try resetting by turning off all power for several minutes.
