When turning on the hot water faucet of all taps in the house, only a trickle comes out. Cold water has great pressure. I have tried pounding the hot water valve to loosen any sediment, still no water. All valves are on the ON position. Does this sound like a burst pipe?

No, if it were a burst pipe the cold would be affected too. There may be a blockage at the inlet or outlet of the water heater, or a valve has failed near the heater.

A burst pipe would exhibit water somewhere between the water heater and a spout. You will have to become a hot water detective..... starting with the hot water tank and your hand. Feel the hot discharge pipe. If it is warm or hot... continue to feel the pipe... to your first faucet.
It won't be easy, but necessary.
Best Wishes
