A few days ago a condom was flushed down the toilet on the first floor. Three days later when I went to shower in the basement bathroom the shower was draining slowly and the basement was covered in water when I got out. I had showered twice before this shower and nothing had happened. The toilet that the condom was flushed down is working fine. Do you think these two incidents are related?

Not unless it came off a horse. A septic tank pumper once had to pump out a tank. When he opened the access the tank was full of condums. He called the husband and told him that they were NOT supposed to be flushed down the toilet. The husband replied, "I had a vasectomy many years ago so I do NOT use them".
