low flow warm side moen shower
Author: marine255 (UT)

Have a Moen3570 shower valve. Have changed out cartridge, balancer, and stops. Very low floe warm side. System is eight years old. This is an upstairs shower. Basin flow in same bathroom good. Had a plumber come, changed out balancer, and cartridge again. Took out stops on each side. There is considerable more flow on the cold side but it seems to me that on the warm side there is definitely even more of a loss of warm when it goes though the balancer. Plumber is definitely puzzled as am I. Thinking now about a partially plugged line, maybe a bend kinked?? Would like to exhaust all possibilities before breaking into the wall from the bedroom side. To complicate the back exposure, the valve is about half in front of where three studs are soldiered together. Tile pattern on front is large sizes. Might get away with only breaking out one ( that's me....haven't asked the plumber) The valve has three soldered lines, hot and cold ...one to shower head and a stubbed piece going down (if ever needed for tub). We did have a lot of white flecky stuff in our lines just after we moved in. Wonder if compressor pressure with warm stop out and basin valve open???? Moen is very good with replacement parts. Something nags at me about the valve even though the warm intake is less than the cold????? Any comments please!
