Hello, I have a sloan flush valve toilet in an older home. I don't like the toilet, very commercial looking, and uses alot of water per flush. I want to replace the entire toilet to a standard gravity tank toilet with as little plumbing (clearance) as possible. I don't want to tear into the Rookwood tile wall to replace the supply. Is it possible to convert the 1" (I think the sloan supply is 1"- I could be mistaken) supply of the Sloan to a regular angle stop in as little space as possible? Probably oK to run the line downward to below the tank, but not to far forward from the wall. Thanks.

if you don't mind looking at an exposed pipe... just get a 1 x 1/2 chrome plated brass elbow. screw a 1/2 inch chrome nipple into it. then use a 1/2 inch IPS x 3/8 compression chrome plated straight stop. last connection will be some sort of flexible connector down to the ball cock.

don't forget, many flush valve toilets are roughed in at 10".

If your Sloan Flushometer is fitted with an A-36 A internal kit, you can easily switch it with a high performance kit that uses 1/2 of the water. Look for the 1020 A Kit.
Best Wishes
