Hey Guys,
My newly bought 2bed/1bath house has good water pressure(85 @ spigot) but flow drops off big time after 2-3 sec. Plumber and County have been out to determine the problem, but nothing solved yet. Here's what I have and what I know:
1) 3/4" Copper from the meter to house
2) No PRV located or known of
3) 25-30 gal/min at meter(County measure)
4) Old meter and Angle back flow valve on meter(Plumber's assessment)
What do I do next?

Was the flow checked on the house side of the back flow valve or the street side?

By the wrench marks I saw they checked the flow directly off the meter

The back flow valve is on the house side of the meter and it was not checked by county. I've got pics of it

Download the pics to tinypic or photobucket and then post a link to them on this thread.

There might be debris in the check valve, restricting the water flow or it could be a defective main shut off valve at the house. The check valve can be disassembled and inspected, by unscrewing the top.

Plumber replaced the main shut off at the house on his first call. I'll inspect the check value tomorrow.

I cleaned the check valve and the flow did improve! The flow is still not where it should be but it is better than it was. Thank you Steve for your help!!
