Hi All,
I recently moved into a new home that was constructed within the last 12 months and I am the first owner.
Last week I noticed that there was a small puddle of water on the floor near my laundry machines, which I initially thought was caused by the washer. However, upon further inspection, I noticed that the water seemed to be running off the trap primer that's connected to the washer's cold water in.
When the washer is in use, the trap makes a lot of noise and water seeps out through the small holes on either side as it's draining. The drain doesn't appear to be clogged, but rather like there's a lot of water flowing, and therefore, water spills through the air holes.
Is this a faulty trap primer or something that can be adjusted? It's not causing a huge amount of grief as the basement is still unfinished but I'd like to know what's causing the leaking.

It is an inline model which DOES emit water when water flows through the line. Either it is dispensing too much water, which is not adjustable, or the line down to the floor drain is restricted so the water cannot flow freely.
