Hi all,
Plumber and I are stumped. We are trying to replace a toilet from the 50's. The problem is it is placed in front of a baseboard heater that is 7.5in tall and 4in deep. We can't find a toilet that has a base that sits at least 4in from the wall while the tank is still snug against the wall. Can anyone recommend a toilet or suggest a workaround? Thank you!

depending on how the current flange set on the floor, an offset flange will gain you 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches.
also, with the toilet temporarily out of the way you may be able to use a slimmer heating unit. sometimes you can remove the sheetrock and set the unit into the wall 1/2 inch.

I just installed an American Standard in my house and have 4.5 inches from wall to base and over 10 inches of height. It is a higher seat(16.5" for tall people.

I am also trying to replace a toilet that is 20 years old.
Which American Standard toilet did you use in front of your baseboard heating unit? My baseboard is 8 inches high and 3 inches deep. I've even contacted manufacturers and they can't help.
Which American Standard toilet fit in front of your baseboard? MUCH THANKS!
