Help.
I have a house on the market. i haven't lived in it for awhile. I put in a new toilet a year ago, and bought a smaller one. not sure of brand name. i paid someone to clean out my drain line with a electric auger outside. he said a lot of paper in the line outside. he told me to put ridex in once a month. it is on city sewer not septic tank. i am there 1 day a work trying to work on the house. i didn't put the ridex as he said. i don't run alot of water in the house , there is only one bath. we noticed recently that after the 3rd? flush at best , that the water in bowl doesn't go straight down. i put 1/2 box of ridex in friday am on way to work , and today i went back by and put 18 oz of muriatic acid down the bowl. i followed directions for use. but it didn't work . i was told to allow several hours. i live 22 miles from house so not easy to go by. i can stop by mon, wed or fri on way home from work and flush . would it help pouring a bucket of water down the bowl fast??? today i ran water in sink across from the toilet and then pulled the plug . the sink empties ok but the toliet doesn't . it is as if there is a blockage in line and water fills up and won't go down till runs through. i noticed on 1st flush i hear gurgling sound. this is while line is open? i checked the air line outside best i could for blockage, i had to climb pretty high on a ladder. i removed the clean out line cap and didn't see water backed up near top. i went by this am and poured 2 buckets of water about 2 gallon per, in bowl , went down fast. then 3rd bucket is standing and will drain slow.

Sounds like a 3 bucket stoppage. A toilet auger probably will not reach this stoppage. You will need a longer snake and may have to pull the toilet if you don't have a clean out near the toilet.

so you don't think air in line. the clean out is next to the bath on the outside of house.

That could be a "small" one. You need a "full size" cleanout. Ridex is completely useless for a sewer connected to the city system.

Your first post suggests it is a blockage. You may have disturbed it and flushed part of it down but you need a camera to know what is going on. Roots, debris??? Need to look at it to know.
