Is it in a mobile home ? Some of them used drains that had a nut underneath the tub, and will have to be accessed from underneath.
Is it in a residential home ? Are you trying to remove the stopper or the entire drain assembly ?

Thank you for your response. This is a mobile home that I just move in. This bath tub just has a tub drain only. It does not has the valve on the wall below the faucet to close and open the tub drain. Now I can not retighten it also. So as you said that it has a nut underneath that make a lot of sense. So I have to access it from below. Is it easy that I can do it by myself? Thank you.

Yes, you can do it by yourself, you need to put something heavy on the drain to keep it from turning while you crawl up underneath and remove the large nut.
