 2 way diverter
Author: mikedel28 (NY)

Hi, I was called in to finish a plumbing job some other plumber walked off because he was unlicenesed and did not pull a permit. After fixing multiple leaks in pvc joints, and uncrimped pex fittings, and moving water supply piping from exterior walls I noticed there is a jacuzzi tub roughed in with a moen valve and diverter, but the tub spout is fed directly from the mixing valve, not the diverter. Was he planning on using a tub spout diverter to direct the water into the moen diverter for the shower heads? If so, will this work? I usually come from the mixing valve to the diverter, then from the diverter to the accessories.
Thanks,
Mike

Did he come out of the top of the mixing valve and go to the diverter ? If so it'll work. Where does the diverter send the water to ? 2 separate shower heads ?

Yep, out the top of mixing valve. 2 separate shower heads. Obviously they are limited in their tub spout selection right?

The spout will need to have a built in diverter, I'd use a Delta spout with a pull down diverter.
