We have a sewage pump in our basement. The pump has floats on it that activate it. Every couple of months or so the toilet paper residue gets so thick on the floats and side of the pit that the alarm goes off. I have to remove the lid and spray everything down. Our entire house goes into this pit except 1 bathroom. Is there a certain kind of paper we should or shouldn't be using? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as the necessary cleanings come at the worst times.

Author: hj (AZ) If you only have a single pump, your system was installed by someone who had no clue what a "whole house" system looked like.

Author: Wheelchair (IL) Besides the spray... you should consider having the unit cleared and cleaned once a year. If not you, consider having it professionally cleared and clean. After the clear and cleaning, the container should be inspected for defects, before it is sealed with a good or new gasket. Best Wishes
