 Pressure tanks
Author: Stevera (PA)

Recently after an all day power outage, our water pressure dropped drastically in the house. Not sure if it is related to the outage or not, but if you open multiple faucets the water stops in all but one. Pressure to the shower is half of what it used to be. We have a Hydopro pressure tank and submersible pump. Pressure at the top of tank is 42psi, ang the gauge in line reads50psi. Any ideas?

There's likely a restriction in the piping system. Possibly from sediment from the tank being emptied during the power outage. Is there a sediment filter at the tank ? Maybe a valve that's not fully open ? You have to disconnect the power from the pump and drain the tank of water before an accurate air pressure reading can be taken at the Schrader valve, although I feel sure that's not the problem.
