Hello, hope someone can assist in this ,I replaced my tube spout (its the kind that has the pull up knob built in as a diverter) and when i engage the diverter to the shower it just trickles out the shower head, 99% of the water is still coming out the tub spout, Ive replaced spout twice with brand new(using a $10, and $25 spout) and it does the same thing. Its a half inch copper pipe so Im using the plastic slide over and collar that goes against wall and is secured with an allen screw, I used pipe thread tape and followed the instructions to a t, Im lost can anyone suggest anything? Thanks !

Have you tried removing the showerhead and then diverting the water. It sounds like the showerhead screen may be clogged.

Not likely if that much water is coming out of the spout. About the only thing that can cause that is a bad spout even though they have changed it twice already.

When I block the pipe with a rubber block (with nothing but the pipe sticking out ,no spout) its hard to hold back but the water does come out the showerhead as it is suppose to, i'm bewildered .

That pretty much confirms that the problem lies within the spout itself.

Checkout the shower head arm and the pipe leading to the shower head.could be something blocking the flow of wTer to the head, could be something in the faucet also blocking water to showerhead,so it comes out the spout
