Shot in the dark.
Can anyone identify this cartridge or tell me how to do so?
I took it to the supply house and they couldn't identify it but speculated that it was Delta. The fact that it was brass threw the guy off.... they did not have a replacement for me.
He sold me the seat and springs which I assume were Delta.
I think replacing the seat and springs fixed my problem, but I wanted to be prepared if not.
First photo is the handles. I know the spout is a replacement... Im guessing the handles might be too... there are no identification on the handles:

The rest of these are the cartridge:

The Delta seats and springs should work, but I don't think that's a Delta faucet.

My photos suck. I know it might be impossible to identify in this manner.
Do you think its an old faucet since its all brass no plastic?
What else can I do to identify this thing?
The delta seats and springs were 'almost' identical to the old ones. You mentioned they "should" work....
If it aint leaking thru now with the new springs and seats in, can I assume that the parts I used were OK?
When the cartridge itself is bad, wheres the leak? tub spout or in the wall/stem?

If it's not leaking now it's most likely ok. If the cartridge is bad the leak is usually thru the spout. If the O-rings on the cartridge are bad it'll leak around the handle. In that case the O-rings can be replaced.

The thing is, I don't think there are O-rings on that thing. (but it sounds like that's a must have, so maybe I looked at it wrong) If there wasn't an O-Ring there, it would be spraying!?
edit: look at the second photo/second link.... do you see o-rings? Is the red portion an o-ring?
So how do you match up just the O-rings? That has to be an exact match as well right? Is it as simple as finding something that might work at the hardware store or again do I have locate the manufacture?

Maybe the 2 handle version of this faucet?

looks similar, would have to pull it again to measure. It has the half cut stem for the handle and the clip around the stem to change direction.
To bad we don't see the holes on the bottom in that diagram.
I fear it might be hard to use the handles as an identifier though, since I know the spout is a universal replacement, im thinking they swapped out the handles too..... do my handles look like replacement handles?

The escutcheons look the same and do the handles look the same to you? Not many stems have a round hole in the side, most have an oblong/rectangular slot.

BINGO!
The 2nd schematics shows the exact setup.
PS- Thank you, I feel a lot better now.
And finally, before I go hunting down this cartridge. Knowing now for sure its not Delta, will I have issues using those Delta seat and springs in this faucet? I have them installed now, the spout is not dripping.
