 shower head or faucet?
Author: gmum (IL)

I have a tiny drip from the shower head (not from the threads, rather the head itself). This occurs with the water off and the tub diverter in the position that would fill the tub instead of go to the shower head.

What needs repair?

Is my assumption correct that if the tub diverter is in the tub setting, then even if a cartridge was leaking thru, the leak would be in the tub and not the shower head?

Does the drip continue ? Maybe the water is trapped in the showerhead itself and takes a long time for it all to drip out ? You are correct in thinking that if the faucet were leaking thru it would come out of the tub spout.

trapped water makes more sense to me now (maybe??).... it surely wasn't leaking thru the tub spout (with the water off and the tub spout positioned to fill the tub).

Simple law of gravity that the water would trickle from the spout rather than fill the riser up to the head im guessing.

Going to go with a new head and diverter (more expensive but thankfully I don't have to try to figure out what type of faucet I have!)
