Braided steel hose on incoming main?
Author: SKJ (CA)

Hi,

I've got an annoying offset between the output of the pressure regulator on my incoming main and the entry point to the house. Could I just use a flexible braided stainless steel hose (3/4"winking smiley for this 12" spot? It is exposed to the elements and I'm worried it would corrode.

Thanks.

Since a Braided SS Hose is not considered a permanent install, I wouldn't. Send a photo so we can see your situation. Is your piping system copper?

Thank you, that is a good suggestion clap

Thank you, that is a good suggestion. Would that be code compliant?

My issue is that this is about 1/2" off. Just enough that I can't quite force a straight pipe, and annoying with a series of turns.

This slight flex pipe would be perfect.

as long as it is not concealed i think you are OK codewise.

Soft copper tubing might be the best thing to use in that situation.
