Ridged Sump pump 1/2 HP Only works If I lift the float manually.

I have a sump pump that only works if I lift the float manually. Does this mean I should replace my float switch? Or is it a different issue.

Looks like the float needs adjustment.

Depends on what you have, submersible or pedestal, tethered float or switch operated by rod, etc. Best to look up adjustment procedures for your particular model online.

The water won't lift the float ? It's probably not the switch .
