This patent number is on my shower faucet as well In researching it I find that it is a Moen faucet is not from the 20's as house was not built until the late 50's or early 60's. My valve appears to be in perfect condition but the faucet leaks. I assume it needs stems, seats, and such. Is it possible to find these without replacing the valve???

Post a picture of the valve, if you can also show the stem/cartridge you may get a useful answer.

Moen faucets were NOT "made in the 20's". But they have made several different versions over the years so we need a photo. However, if it IS from the 50s it could be the original Dialcet and if so, and it has never been serviced it might need a Mack truck to pull the brass stem out of it.

Call MOEN customer service. They have specialists that will help you identify your faucet and might even supply the parts for free. I know they have for me in the past. Good Luck
