I have a Weil-McLain gas fired boiler I believe CG-5 for my baseboard heat, two zone. When I turn the thermostat up the boiler takes some time to fire up. It will be clicking for a minute or two and then finally kick on. I plan on changing the thermocouple. Any other thoughts as to why it seems to be taking so long to fire up. Works fine once it is lit. Thanks

one thing comes to mind.
before the boiler can light, it goes thru a number of safety checks. it has a vent damper that opens on a call for heat. if the damper is taking a long time to open, that would delay the start.

Thanks for the help.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. There is no vent damper on this one.
