So, I just absorbed a new property that runs the water from an above ground water tank to some sort of pump house where it seems to then flow into the actual house. Now, there is electricity in the house and I know I can turn on the pump but there is a severed pipe that looks awfully important (see attached link to view photos) and I would love to get water flowing into the house. Thanks in advance.

It's kinda important. That's the suction pipe that connects the pump to the well, or tank in your case: it's a simple fix. The entire set-up is pretty rube looking; mixed black and galvanized, swimming pool hose, etc.
The heat lamps suggest that the area was subject to freezing weather. If so the pipe may have frozen and split. Hope the pump is okay.

Yeah, that's a mess. I'd start with a union where the PVC enters the pump house and replace all the existing piping. That black iron pipe has no business in a domestic water system, nor does the corrugated pipe. I'd use 1" pex for all of that. An hours time and $50 worth of fittings would sure make that set up look so much better.

absored or purchased as in ownership? This could be important.
The building is equipped with a well, well pump, storage tank and a heat lamp to prevent freezing. At this point, you have the option to repair or restore.
If you know little or nothing about wells, hire a licensed plumber to perform an onsite inspection and make sure that the waters are safe to drink and use.
Best Wishes

Sorry to bother but is there any way you could tell me what parts to fix and what to do with said parts?
