 Very low water pressure.
Author: Billmo23 (IL)

Hi. I don't know anything about plumbing, but the water pressure in my home seems to have been gradually getting weaker and weaker to the point where the shower head won't work anymore. Also takes forever to fill the tub. We have city water I believe, but I am wondering if it has something to do with the house first, as it is an older house. We have this Badger Meter, but I don't know if it has anything to do with it. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The first thing to check for would be a failing pressure reducing valve. After that you piping would have to evaluated to see if it cound be restricted.

Most pressure reducing valves also have a screen at the inlet. It could be that the screen is becoming clogged.

I hate when that happens. Badger is a water meter manufacturer.

Do your neighbors have the same issues or is this isolated to just your home, house, building. Call your city/town/village water company for the water pressure and determine if there have been any reported issues in your area. So far you haven't spent a penny, just your time. Once you have determined that it is local issue, you may have to bring in a licensed plumber to test your water supply pipes.....
Best Wishes
