Call the plumber back. The main is still plugged. Do you know what was discovered when it was cleaned 9 days ago? Was a camera run through the pipe?

1. Unless it was roots, there was NO indicaton of what caused it
2. Do you ALWAYS put a camera down the drain after snaking it and if so do you charge extra for it?

HJ, not to disagree with you but if I were in business today, I would explain what my procedure is ahead of time to the client (this info should also be on your web site). How can a plumber give any assurance that a clog is removed unless he puts a camera down the line? By doing so you can inspect the line to see if it was a crack in the pipe, causing roots to penetrate the drain? You can also look for flat spots or traps in the line that cause the stoppage in the first place. The camera removes much of the distrust of the plumbers recommendations. This should let the customer make an intelligent and economic decision. I know that most plumbers will not take the time to do this because they are trying to compete with an incompetent crowd of unqualified plumbers (competitors) that think that because they own a Pick-up Truck and a can of ABS glue, they are qualified. Plumbing done incorrectly can cost lives and illness so issues like this are important for the customer to understand. This was one of my issues when I was in the business. Those Contractors in the business face this every day and it will never stop until the pain or cost for anyone doing business this way is too much.(Whoops, sounds like I am calling for more government) Having said this I realize that most folks can't afford a plumber for one hour, not to mention 3 or 4 hours. Like Walter Cronkite used to say, "That just the way it is". I think it was Walter. OK, I am through with this.

The best person to know your sewer line, right now, it the guy who did the rodding. Give that guy a chance to redeem themselves.

Best Wishes
