dual spray faucet not staying in spray mode
Author: southerngal (NY)

HELP - i hope someone here can help. the very very old kitchen sink faucet had developed a leak at the joint of the faucet and the plate and he decided to replace. Landlord installed a WATER RIDGE 962791 from COSTCO

installation went pretty well except he had to go back and get his drill to make the center hole larger - the rest was fine (of course not pulling out everything from the sink cabinet - this is one of the old all in one sink metal cabinets and its the only storage for cleaning type stuff so it meant pulling a lot of stuff out sigh)

anyway, finally turn on the faucet. water streams out but the spray mode does not lock. i have tried every way from sunday and i looked in the installation manual etc. nothing indicates how to lock. it SEEMS like it should lock by pushing down on the black button but i push down and it turns to spray mode but i let go of the button and it reverts back to stream mode.

so right now the only way to have spray mode is to hold the button down when the faucet is in place (which means washing one handed) or pull out the hose and also hold the spray button down which also means washing one handed

surely this cant be right. please tell me this is a defective model.

every single faucet with pull out that i have ever seen have the button lock in the spray mode and it locks in place.

i will call the number in the manual on monday - hope i get someone who speaks english...

but any advice or info would be appreciated.
thank you in advance

Sprays do NOT "lock". THey only spray while you are using the faucet, UNLESS it is a pull out sprayer, in which case yours is probably defective.

thanks for replying
actually there are some that lock when you depress a button until the flow is too low.
this one the button does not do that . i called the manufacturer.
so the landlord gave me his old one that has a button that does that so i got that but not a new faucet.

however i did see (after helping him twice) how easy it is to replace and will just get one that i like on sale and replace it (and yes i will keep the original so i can replace if i ever move).

thanks for taking the time.
