 Shower drain
Author: Robert B. (FL)

I am tiling over tile in a shower basin with a drain that has holes 3 3/8" c-c. I'm using a drain extension ring to bring drain up to the new height. I'm using 2" x 2" square tiles and want a 4 1/4" square drain cover or a kit that comes with a round grate and a square trim piece that surrounds it. Every kit I see has the round grate with 2 7/8" c-c holes. Anyone know of a reducer or a kit for 3 3/8" drain holes? Looked at a lot of plumbing sites, no help. Local supply house might know but usually not interested in helping ppl. Any suggestions?

Is something wrong with the shower now ? If so ,just adding tiles will make it worse.

Best and proper way to do it is to pull up the old tile.
