Our hot water in our bathtub has no water coming out for 5-10 minutes every morning and then after waiting, it suddenly comes pouring out the tub faucet. And it is hot instantly.
The cold water will immediately come out, but not to waste water we just turn on the knob to the hot, and it will slightly drip while you are waiting, and then it all of a sudden starts, like there was never an issue.
All other hot water in the house works fine. I have tried turning on the hot water in the bathroom sink to see if it will "pull" the hot water faster, and it has water instantly, and after a couple seconds, it is hot water, no problem. We have an electric hot water heater located in the closet directly next to the bathroom (we live in a 1100 Sqft, 3 bed, 1 bath home).
The hot water knob does not tighten very well. You can tighten it all the way off after a shower, but if you come back 10 later, you can tighten it a little more to decrease the slight drip. But even with that trick, it always drips, but very little. The cold water knob does not have the same problem, when you turn it off, you can feel it is all the way off, it has a hard stop, unlike the hot knob.
Any suggestions will be helpful. Thank you in advance!

the problem sounds to be in the tub faucet. someone needs to take it apart and have a look at the internal workings..

What brand of faucet and how old is it? Do you have a picture of it?

The faucet is the original with the house (built in 1984). I am not sure on the brand. It has 3 knobs (1 hot, 1 cold and 1 to switch water from the shower to the tub faucet).
