 Pressure regulator
Author: getdeva (KS)

We are installing a pressure regulator between submersible pump and a overhead tank placed on roof of the building.

Height of the building is 40ft. If we install a pressure regulator between pump and overhead tank to reduce pressure. will there be any damage to the pump

What are you using to control power to the pump ? I'm not sure that a reducing valve is your best choice.

Ideally, the regulator should go after the pressure tank because there is a possibility of pump damage if the regulator were to malfunction. Submersible pumps are positive displacement pumps and if there is a closed valve between it and the pressure switch, bad things can happen. If your method is the only option, then an adequately sized pressure relief valve must accompany it.
