I have a toilet that has worked fine for years. Yesterday I noticed that a lot of water was missing from the bowl. It is in the basement, the lower living area, and it is winter so at first I thought the dehumidifier had pulled the water from the bowl. This has happened before. Anyway, I flushed the toilet and I cleaned the tub in the room and when I did I heard water continuing to drain only from the bowl while I was cleaning the tub. My first thought was that the wax ring for the toilet needed to be replaced but today I washed my hands in the sink in the same bathroom and the toilet blew some bubbles and drained some more. So I don't have a clue what is causing this. Would a wax ring that needs replaced cause these problems? Could someone help me solve this mystery?

A bad was seal would NOT let this happen, so that is not the problem. YOu have a partially blocked main line and I would do everything possible before I would remove the toilet and try to snake the line.
