 Black water
Author: ginpahl (MN)

Am wondering why I have black water coming from my shower in a bathroom on the far end of the house. This faucet may not be used for 3 to 4 days and it doesn't always happen but quite often. When I first turn it on it will be okay but after about 5 seconds it looks like black ink. This has happened off & on since last July when I had gone on vacation & turned off the water to the whole house. Also in the last 3 to 4 days the water in the stool is dark grey & dis coloring the stool so has to be brushed out every day.

it sounds like there is a steel pipe mixed into your system.

So the water piping on the inside is breaking down, taking a minute to flush it out after long spells is the only solution short of replacing your water lines.

Some slime in your pipes probably, call a plumber and get it checked out.
