We turned the hot and cold water off to our downstairs bathroom so I could repaint the inside of my claw foot tub with any drips. It was off for most of the afternoon and it was a cold and windy day outside. I went under the house and turned the hot and cold to the left to open them back up and we have no cold water only. We have heated up the cold water pipes under the house and also from the bathroom around the cold water pipes but still have no cold water. We are stumped. ANY ADVICE???

You might have a bad gate valve. The gate stuck in the seat and broke loose from the stem.
